Eucalypt oil coating and the germination of Pinus radiata seeds.  G. Minko.  May 1984.  4 pp. (unpubl.)

SUMMARY

Eucalypt oil, extracted from Eucalyptus polybractea R. T. Baker (blue mallee), when applied at a rate of 40 mL kg-1 to seeds of radiata pine (Pinus radiata D. Don), failed to control fungal growth under laboratory germination conditions. Further, the rate and amount of germination and the amount of emergence were substantially reduced by the treatment under laboratory and nursery sowing conditions respectively. Thus, treatment of radiata pine seeds with this particular eucalypt oil as protection against fungal attack cannot be recommended.
